Goin Jeepin 2 Baldy Mesa March 14, 2010
Two Sundays ago Todd, Mom, Dad and I took the Jeeps out again, this time on the Baldy Mesa OHV Trail. This is near Cajon Pass on the San Bernardino National Forest. Baldy Mesa is the topographical feature on which we live so it was cool to explore along its rim. It was a fun ride and there are such beautiful views from here of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains!
I really wish people wouldn't shoot up signs :p Honestly, where do they think the money comes from to repair or replace them?
Looking south down Cajon Pass, Cajon Mountain is on the left (where we went on our last Jeep ride), the north and southbound lanes of I-15 are about a 1/2 mile apart here

Pretty manzanita flowers
Abbey and I scrambled up to Point 4682', which protrudes from Baldy Mesa and you can see prominently when you're headed south on I-15. Mom, Dad, and Todd watched us from the top of the mesa.
Looking towards Cajon Pass, San Bernardino Mountains behind
Looking towards Mt. Baldy and the other peaks in the San Gabriel Mountains
Looking back at the short but steep route up 4682'
Motorcycles and ATV's can take the steeper route to the left, Jeeps and inexperienced drivers can take the more level bypass to the right. There are many such bypasses along the way.
This valley was filled with little Joshua Trees - it looked like a Joshua Tree nursery :)
