Canyonlands National Park, UT
On day eight we drove to Canyonlands National Park.  On the way we stopped to see some dinosaur footprints along the Colorado River.
"Just stopped to see some dinosaur tracks, they were really awesome.  Both the impressions and the negative 'bas-relief' on two adjacent rocks.  A chance occurence, all of the biases of fossilization working in favor, the moment after the dinosaur ambled over mud, until the present, millions of years later.  The biases of what is fossilized, how it is preserved, and the chance that it is revealed."
