Camping - just me and Little T
October 16-17, 2012
On Tuesday Little T and I met Grandma and Grandpa up at beautiful Lake Gregory
where we spent a few hours exploring - there is a nice trail that circles the lake and
we hiked about 2/3 of it. Then we headed to Dogwood Campground. A large
beautiful campground with lots of yes, dogwood trees turning autumn red, but also
black oak turning gold, incense cedars, Ponderosa pine, and white fir. In sunny spots
there were baby cedar trees by the thousands! Baby boom! After Grandma made
her famous tacos G & G left and Little T and I went on an evening hike. Then we
settled in for the night. The baby slept 11 hours straight through the night. Mommy
- not so much. Usually I wear ear plugs when camping, but since it was just me and
the baby I wanted to be alert... and I heard every little noise all night long :p At
least some of the sounds were cool - owls and coyotes. In the morning we went on a
walk, ate breakfast, and packed up. Then we went towards Lake Silverwood where
the California sycamores are changing into their autumn hues. We had fun - it was a
relaxing couple of days in the mountains :)
