San Francisco, Yosemite, and the Eastern Sierra

| Todd and I took a week long vacation and headed towards my sister's place near San Francisco. Along the way there we stayed at Tom's Place and explored Rock Creek and Sonora Pass. On the way home we went over Tioga Pass and explored the fall colors near Lee Vining, June Lake, and Mammoth. |
| While we were in San Francisco we visited Muir Woods (where we had an awesome encounter with river otters), Alcatraz, Half Moon Bay, and had dinner with 4wheelbob and Gina in Livermore. |
| After San Francisco we went with Kristine to Yosemite. She is working for the Yosemite Conservancy and thus knows her way around the park very well. We stayed at the lodge, which was sort of strange for me - I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel in a National Park before! I'm usually camping or backpacking :) We visited the Smith Peak Fire Lookout just outside the park, climbed Sentinel Dome, explored Glacier Point, and had fun in the valley. |
