Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness
October 1998
In autumn 1998 Andrew and I went to the Mt. Hood National Forest and to a trail I had been on before that follows the Salmon River.  We hiked in only a few miles and found a spot along the river to set up camp.  It rained a bit but never too hard.  After the sun set we hiked further up the trail and found glowing foxfire, or bioluminescent fungi, on the forest floor.
